A Taiwanese trader won NTD 10 million ($310,000) in a lottery organized by the country's tax authorities. Luck smiled on a user of the MaiCoin Max crypto exchange, who made a small trade and paid a commission of $2 NTD ($0.06 USD). The electronic receipt issued by the exchange became the winning ticket in the Uniform Invoice Lottery. This mechanism was introduced in Taiwan in the 1950s to encourage tax compliance.
