Matt Kane is an artist who pushed the boundaries of the traditional art world, transitioned to digital art and wrote his own software. Kane is known for his Gazers collection, which launched in December 2021 and is considered by many to be an OG among generative artists. He recently released his collection, Anon, which focuses on understanding identity through art and immortalizing real anons from the past.

Kane spent part of his career as a software developer, but was experimental with different artistic mediums, including the physical canvas. But the limitations of the physical art world made the American artist think about how digital art could remove many obstacles to better his vision of creating art.

Kane learned about NFTs in 2017 and has remained an observer while continuing to dabble in digital art. He launched his first NFT on SuperRare in 2019. Gazers was launched in 2021 and currently has a base price of 12.6 ETH. Gazers have moon phases that change over time, and some can keep track of hours and minutes.
