Blockchain company Ripple recently announced that its local entity in Singapore, Ripple Markets APAC Pte Ltd, has received full license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to become a major payment institution. This means Ripple can continue to operate in Singapore, providing real-world crypto solutions to businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. 🎉
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said Singapore has developed into one of the leading fintech and digital asset hubs, balancing innovation, consumer protection and responsible growth. Singapore has been home to Ripple’s Asia-Pacific headquarters since 2017 and is critical to the company’s global operations. 🌏
This license enables Ripple to provide digital payment token services, joining 14 companies that have previously received the same license from MAS, such as Coinbase, Independent Reserve and the local branch of Blockchain.com, to serve the Singapore market. 🔐
