🚨 The US Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it has filed eight lawsuits against Chinese companies and employees related to the production and distribution of fentanyl. It is stated that these companies may have used cryptocurrencies and other payment methods to hide their identities and financial transactions.

- Two individuals, Qingsong Li and Chunhui Chen, affiliated with Hebei Shenghao Import and Export Company, were found in possession of wallets used for remittances related to precursor chemicals.

- Wei Zhang, affiliated with Hubei Guanlang Biotechnology Company, allegedly operated a crypto wallet that facilitated transactions for fentanyl precursors and opioid additives.

💰 Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) also imposed sanctions on the parties involved in these drug transactions. The list covered 19 crypto addresses, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and Tron (TRX).

- The sanctions focused on most crypto addresses linked to five individuals linked to companies linked to the drug trade.

- The four addresses belonged to Canadian company Valerian Labs, based in Vancouver.

🔍 The Treasury sanctioned Du Changgen, the leader of the criminal drug network, but his crypto addresses were not included in the sanction list.
