[OP Labs launches its modular error-proofing system on the OP Goerli testnet] Golden Finance reported that Optimism network developer OP Labs launched a test network version of its error-proofing system. Once the test is completed, it will achieve a "more decentralized and efficient super chain." The new system is currently deployed on the Optimism Goerli network. Currently, the OP Stack-based network uses a centralized sorter to bundle transactions and submit them to Ethereum. If the sorter submits incorrect data, the user cannot submit a fraud proof to block the sorter, and if the attacker is able to control the sorter, it is possible for fraudulent transactions to be confirmed. L2Beat warned of this risk in its report on Optimism, saying that "users need to trust the block proposer to submit the correct L1 state root." OP Labs claims that the new anti-fraud system will help achieve the goal of decentralization of the OP Stack network: "The system is designed to ultimately achieve secure bridging without central fallback."
