Binance’s European territory has suffered repeated setbacks

Binance has been refused registration by many countries in Europe around the third quarter, and has not disclosed many regulatory details to the outside world.

Recent regulatory dilemmas in Europe include:

  • UK: Binance UK has canceled its registration with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

  • Netherlands: Binance announced that it will withdraw from the Dutch market and will only provide withdrawal services after mid-July.

  • Germany: In June, the company was refused registration in Germany. A Binance spokesperson confirmed that it had voluntarily withdrawn its application for a German license.

  • Austria: Austrian license application has been cancelled, and will return to the EU following the MiCA framework

  • French investigation: foreign media revealed that Binance France was investigated by the authorities for money laundering, Changpeng Zhao refuted it

  • Belgium: The Belgian Financial Authority ordered Binance to stop providing services, which may involve criminal penalties

Belgium is one of the 27 member states of the European Union, which may mean that Binance will be able to gradually regain lost ground in Europe.

Binance: Follow MiCA to return to EU

A Binance spokesperson has previously stated that Binance’s focus in Europe is to ensure that MiCA is fully compliant with regulations when it is officially launched next year.

The Binance spokesperson’s response appeared to be consistent with what founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said in April of this year, when he tweeted in support of MiCA and emphasized that Binance will adjust its business in the next 12-18 months to make it Fully compliant.

The European Parliament voted for MiCA to be implemented.

This means one of the world’s largest markets is introducing tailored regulations for crypto to protect users and support innovation.

The fine details will matter, but overall we think this is a pragmatic solution to…
