According to TechFlow, Orb Technology, the developer of the Lens Protocol-based web3 social application Orb, announced the completion of a $2.3 million Pre-seed round of financing. Investors in this round include Superscrypt, Founders, Inc., Foresight Ventures, Aave Companies, Aave Companies and Lens Protocol founder Stani Kulechov and Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal.
Orb plans to develop new on-chain social experiences that combine commerce, content, and communications. Siren said the company also plans to expand its current team of less than 10 people by hiring mainly mobile developers and designers.
“Orb is the first application in the Lens ecosystem to raise funds, creating momentum for a new wave of applications built on web3 technology,” said Kimmo Siren, co-founder of Orb.
Orb says it has received more than 400 requests to create new communities, which have more than 5,000 users who have made more than 15,000 publications and generated more than 150,000 reactions within the community.
