Former Deutsche Bank investment banker Rashawn Russell has pleaded guilty to investment fraud in connection with a fraudulent cryptocurrency trading scheme. The 27-year-old operated the "R3 Crypto Fund," defrauding 29 investors out of $1.5 million by promising guaranteed, outsized returns on crypto investments. Russell also admitted to a separate identity-theft scheme involving fraudulent credit cards. He now faces up to 30 years in prison and will be required to pay over $1.5 million in restitution.
