Base is Ethereum L2 built by Coinbase, one of the largest exchanges in the world. Here’s what you need to know about the speculative $BASE token airdrop.

Coinbase has always denied involvement in the creation of the network's token, but the airdrop community remains optimistic and speculates on the possibility of $BASE airdrops in the future. Additionally, participating in the Base protocol increases your chances of receiving multiple airdrops from other projects if they also decide to launch tokens.
In this article, we will explore the most likely tasks to help you qualify for potential $BASE tokens and ensure eligibility for other airdrops within the Base network.
After reading this article, you can explore my Scroll airdrop guide. They managed to raise $83 million, and the task involved was fairly simple.

What is the basis? Base represents the Ethereum layer 2 blockchain developed by Coinbase to build a secure, cost-effective, and scalable environment for developers. The main goal is to create a platform on which developers can build on-chain applications without running into security, speed, or gas fee challenges.
The Layer 2 architecture facilitates off-chain settlement of transactions while leveraging Ethereum’s decentralization and security, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing transaction costs. Essentially, Base operates similarly to Optimism, utilizing optimistic aggregation to complete transactions.
Coinbase launched a testnet for the L2 blockchain in February 2023, and the response was notable. The mainnet opens to the public on August 9, 2023.
Has Base issued $BASE tokens? Coinbase has explicitly denied any intention to introduce a new network token and stated that they prefer ETH as their native token. Nonetheless, rumors persist about a possible future launch of a $BASE token.
While Coinbase was staunchly opposed to launching a token, we observed a similar situation with projects like Arbitrum, where initial token launch rumors were denied. Subsequently, Arbitrum conducted a $120 million ARB airdrop to benefit those who received the airdrop.

Base negates the existence of the native token. Is the $BASE airdrop confirmed? Debate continues to rage over whether Base intends to issue tokens. Therefore, airdrops are still in the speculative stage for now. Nonetheless, airdrop enthusiasts continue to be on a mission to prevent Coinbase from quietly introducing the token via airdrop. Additionally, there is the possibility to receive airdrops from projects built on top of the underlying network.
While Coinbase has publicly supported airdrops before, they have maintained transparent communication and a seamless flow of information within the community. So the possibility of a base airdrop might be a bit remote, but it's a venture worth pursuing.
10 tasks that could potentially secure the $BASE airdrop While there are no official instructions, airdrops generally benefit early active users of the protocol. Once you have this knowledge, you can consider interacting with various dApps on the Base mainnet and completing certain tasks on the Base testnet. Always use disposable wallets when participating in new projects. The following is a non-exhaustive list of tasks you can perform:
Mainnet action
Utilize official base bridge
Explore other bridge options
Mint an Onchain Summer NFT
Create NFTs on Mint.Fun
Cooperate with well-known DEX
Join a guild and get a character
Interact with other base dApps
Testnet action
Bridging gETH to the base testnet
Bridge gETH to Base
Use DEX
Get "Early Builders NFT"
Minting "Base, Introduced NFT"

ETH can be easily transferred from the Ethereum mainnet to the Base network using the official bridge. In order to achieve this, you will need an EVM-compatible wallet (such as MetaMask or Coinbase wallet) and some Ethereum. While there may be associated gas charges, this is a recommended mission as it uses official bridges. If you wish to reduce gas costs, alternative bridging options are listed in step 2.
Visit bridge.base.org
Connect your wallet
The base network should be automatically added to your wallet; if not, please visit http://chainlist.org/?search=base or consult the Base documentation: https://docs.base.org/using-base and add Base network.
Enter the amount of ETH you want to transfer and perform the bridge operation.
Funds should arrive within minutes.

Explore other bridge options Orbiter Finance Base Bridge To save gas fees or increase on-chain activity, consider using the following bridges. They support transferring ETH from various networks such as Arbitrum, Optimism, and Binance Chain, thereby saving a lot on gas fees. Explore one or both of the following websites to transfer your funds to Base:
Allbridge:https : //allbridge.cc/
Owlto Finance: https: //owlto.finance/
Layerswap: https: //www.layerswap.io/
Additionally, these bridges may provide their own airdrops in the future. For more details, see my Orbiter Finance airdrop guide.

Participate in famous DEX-based popular DEXs Swapping tokens on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) is one of the most straightforward ways to generate on-chain activity, in line with the goals of airdrop farming. Here are some of the largest DEXs operating on Base, according to data from Defi Llama. You don't need to use them all, but they can help increase activity in your wallet:
Uniswap: https: //app.uniswap.org/#/swap
Wardenswaps:https : //wardenswaps.cc/
PancakeSwap:https://pancakeswap.finance/swap?chain =base
Aerodrome:https ://aerodrome.finance/swap
Alien Base: https: //app.alienbase.xyz/

All told, Base has amassed $70 million in TVL in the first nine days, and its growth is expected to continue, according to Defi Llama. Although they denied the airdrop, such denials are common in the early stages of airdrop speculation. We'll have to wait and see what happens. The base benefits from the support of a well-funded company, making it a strong candidate for airdrop radar surveillance. "
