According to TechFlow, Digital Currency Group Inc. (DCG) and its CEO Barry Silbert have been facing fraud charges from Cameron Winklevoss, co-founder of the Gemini Trust Co. crypto trading platform, in recent months. Although they have denied the charges, federal officials are investigating the internal financial transactions of DCG and its subsidiary Genesis Global Capital.

In recent months, prosecutors in Brooklyn, FBI agents and SEC staff have interviewed Winklevoss to discuss his allegations, according to people familiar with the matter. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York specifically asked about Silbert’s conduct, the people said.

It should be noted that investigations by the U.S. Attorney, the FBI or the SEC do not always result in charges or enforcement actions. All three parties declined to comment.
