The issue of regulating cryptocurrencies in Russia remains open, but the situation may change this fall. The head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, believes that consideration of bills on this topic could begin in the coming months.
The authorities have still not reached a consensus on this issue. The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Russia have different approaches to regulating cryptocurrencies, and discussions are ongoing.
At the stage of consideration in the State Duma there are already several bills relating to mining, taxation and other aspects of working with cryptocurrencies. There is even a proposal to introduce legal liability for โcryptocurrency tradersโ for violating laws.
