The music track has become very hot recently due to Melody’s continuous control. Since I participated in 4M space, I was very interested in this project, so I started to research this project.

Compared to running (Stepn), the music track is a track that is easier to break out of the circle, because it almost naturally has social attributes, and under the star's light, it is easier to attract fans. Even for players who can't sing, you won't have any psychological pressure if you sing secretly by yourself.

In addition, the music market is large enough and it is easy to become popular.

For the project, on the one hand, how to develop more gameplay, and on the other hand, how to purchase more copyrights, these are important issues that any music track project must consider.

The project team also invested a lot of energy in anti-cheating research in the early stages.

Investment advice: Worth paying attention to. Considering that 4M NFT can be free minted, friends who have the conditions can try it out.

1. Overview

MMMM is the first music app that fully and effectively integrates Web3 and karaoke functions. Users obtain game tokens through project NFT (Mic-Doll), and then upgrade or mint new NFTs.

MMMM's mission is to establish a new relationship between musicians/singers and audiences through a low-cost content creation model, the self-promotion tendency of the token economy, and the spirit and technology of Web3.

In terms of social interaction, users’ songs can be shared with friends, or made into NFTs and sent to fans or friends.

3. Project Details

3.1 Team

Team ORIGAMI LABS. Unfortunately, I couldn't find much information about the team.

3.2 Funds and Chips Distribution

3.2.1 Financing

According to the founder, the company received an investment of approximately 2 million US dollars from a domestic investment organization, but the investor and the specific amount are not yet known.

3.2.2 Chip Distribution

Because the design of the governance token KET has not yet been released in the white paper, the distribution of chips cannot be seen.

3.3 Basic gameplay

MMMM version 1 is a Web3 karaoke app. Users equip Mic-Doll NFTs and sing to earn MESS Tokens. MESS can be used to upgrade/mint/restore Mic-Dolls, tip performers, and bid in music competitions.

Mic-Doll NFT has four attributes: **Willpower, Accuracy, Inspiration, Vitality. ** Anyone who has played Stepn and Melody can basically guess the approximate functions of these attributes.

When the Mic-Doll NFT level reaches level 10 and above, you can mint new Mic-Doll NFTs.

The three current modes of play are: solo mode, social mode, and competition mode.

In addition, 4M has launched MentorDAO as a panel of judges to vote and select outstanding participants in the competition. These people are generally industry professionals, and the rewards are dividends from tokens and music NFT transactions.

Another thing worth pointing out is that 4M takes anti-cheating very seriously. The white paper specifically devotes a section to this.

4. Development

4.1 Current situation

4.2 RoadMap

We are currently entering Phase 5, which is the APP public beta phase, and will develop more social-related features in December.

The following gameplay will be launched later:

  • Competition: The winner gets more rewards.

  • Social: Users can publish their own works or interact with other users.

  • Fan Economy: Artists and amateurs can develop their own channels or live stream to earn tips. They can also sell their own NFTs.

  • Music NFT Market: Creators can trade in the trading market.

5. Economic Model

When studying any blockchain game, one must focus on the design of the economic model, which is the jewel in the crown of a blockchain game.

4M prepares 6,000 limited edition NFTs, which can be minted for free (this highlights the pattern that the project does not make money by selling NFTs, but by developing projects and tracks)

5.1 Supply

4M is a dual token model:

  • MESS: Game Token

  • KET: Governance Token

The game governance token MESS has an unlimited supply, and users can obtain it through singing, PK challenges, Q&A, music room tips, etc.

The project's revenue is estimated to still come from NFT transaction fees.

The KET design is not out yet.

6. Risks

  • Currently it is a dual-token model, but the white paper does not reflect how the governance token should be designed.

  • The team information has not been made public yet. Although the founder said in space that the team has been starting a business, it is still a bit unsettling that no information can be found.

  • It is unknown how much traffic Melody will take away. If Melody crashes first, it will have a great impact on 4M.

8. Conclusion

Driven by Melody, the music track is currently very popular. Many people, whether they participated in Melody in the early days and gained huge profits, or others who did not catch up with Melody and want to catch the next one, are rushing to get on the 4M whitelist, as can be seen from the chat records in DC that they did not have time to read.

From my personal research, the project has a big plan, which can be concluded from the 6k NFT free mints. However, how it will develop in the future depends on how the economic model is designed and how external funds are introduced.
