The ethOS “Ethereum Phone” has completed its pre-order phase and will be available for general order this fall. The new blockchain-focused phone is based on the Google Pixel 7a and is powered by an open-source operating system: ethOS.

Developer ethOS says what differentiates the device from other Web3 smartphones is the built-in Ethereum light client. This feature allows the ethOS operating system to independently verify blocks, making the device a "light node" on the Ethereum network.

The Ethereum smartphone has several built-in tools for processing payments and sending and receiving messages. In addition, the mobile device has integrated Ethereum Name Service (ENS). In addition, it supports Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Layer 2 scaling networks.
