🇹🇭 Thailand is threatening to shut down Facebook due to a rise in cryptocurrency scams and misleading advertisements on the platform. Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, is taking action against fraudulent activity on Facebook.

📉 The ministry reported that more than 200,000 people were victims of fraud on the Facebook advertising network. These scams include fake cryptocurrency investments and fake businesses.

😡 Chaiwut criticizes Facebook for not effectively cracking down on misleading ads. He claims that Facebook's lax controls have resulted in financial losses of around 100,000 million baht for Thai residents.

🚨 DES has collected evidence of more than 5,300 fraudulent ads and intends to present the case in court soon, insisting on the immediate suspension of Facebook.
