Chebeskov explained that thanks to the new platform it will be possible to make payments between friendly countries directly in digital rubles, yuan or rials. According to the official, the BRICS Bridge will reduce the impact of US and EU sanctions on international payments.
In turn, economist, member of the general council of the public organization “Business Russia” Alexey Dolmatov emphasized that a single platform will help make the BRICS countries more competitive, and payments through it will become impersonal.
The Russian authorities, together with their BRICS partners, are offering other options for cross-border payments, including a single BRICS digital currency or digital financial assets (DFAs).
Earlier, First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Vladimir Chistyukhin said that cryptocurrencies should be used to solve problems with cross-border transfers.
