Odaily Planet Daily News: According to people familiar with the matter, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York recently sent a series of request letters to crypto investors and trading companies that work closely with FTX, asking the recipients to voluntarily hand over information on the list of FTX employees and partners, including FTX founder SBF and Caroline Ellison, former head of the investment department of Alameda Research. In addition, lawyers from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Enforcement Division have also issued similar information requests to companies that invest in or trade on the crypto platform. The department is conducting a parallel civil investigation into the collapse of the exchange operator. The SEC is also trying to understand what FTX representatives said to investors and whether there were any false statements that violated securities laws.
