According to Odaily, Elon Musk has responded to calls from X users advocating for a pardon for early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver, also known as 'Bitcoin Jesus.' Musk stated that he would 'inquire' into the matter. Roger Ver is currently facing charges from the U.S. Department of Justice, including mail fraud, tax evasion, and filing false tax returns. He was arrested in Spain and the United States is seeking his extradition for trial.

Roger Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship on February 4, 2014, and moved abroad. Despite this, U.S. law requires him to file tax returns reporting capital gains from the sale of global assets, including Bitcoin. The Department of Justice alleges that Ver's actions have resulted in a loss of at least $48 million to the Internal Revenue Service.
