Labor Day, U.S. markets are closed. On X, I came across a data point that wasn’t new, but was brought back into focus.
According to FRED (TIC long-term securities series), the total market value of long-term U.S. securities held by foreign investors was about $39.19 trillion in June 2026 (series reading 39,189,956, in millions of dollars). Of that, U.S. equity holdings were about $24.49 trillion in May 2026 (FRED equity subcomponent).
The key point is not “how much more it went up.” It’s the structure: global capital voted for U.S. assets with positioning, and equity exposure was lifted very noticeably. Pricing power still sits with U.S. stocks, not with weekend sentiment posts.
