🎯🔥 THE NEW STRAWMAP OF ETHEREUM: TOWARDS AN ULTRA-FAST AND SECURE L1 🔥🎯
The Ethereum Foundation has unveiled its draft roadmap "Strawmap", a technical document presented by researcher Justin Drake outlining the evolution of the Layer 1 (L1) protocol until 2029 through about seven hard forks scheduled every six months.
This "straw map" – a living document to coordinate developers and researchers – abandons old names like "Merge, Surge, Verge" to focus on concrete milestones: sub-second transaction finality, extremely high throughput, massive L2 scaling, post-quantum security, and native privacy.
Faster finality and explosive throughput.
🔹The "Fast L1" goal aims for shorter slots (from 12 to 2 seconds) and single-slot finality within a few seconds, eliminating waits for confirmations.
🔹The "Gigagas" aims for 10,000 TPS on L1 thanks to natively integrated zkEVMs, with 1 billion gas per second for real-time zero-knowledge proofs.
🔹For L2, the "Teragas" with Data Availability Sampling (DAS) aspires to 10 million TPS, making Ethereum scalable like a global economy.
🔹Post-quantum security and integrated privacy.
The roadmap introduces hash-based cryptography to withstand quantum computers, in progressive phases.
🔹Native L1 privacy enables "shielded ETH transfers", confidential transactions directly on the base layer without external mixers.
With forks like Glamsterdam and Hegotá on the horizon, Strawmap positions Ethereum as a private and high-performing "world computer".
A signal of maturity: predictability and innovation to dominate DeFi and Web3.
