Surely you have heard some investor recommending to do average pricing. But do you know why and how this can optimize your profits?
Average price, as the name itself explains, is an average of the values at which you bought the assets. On Binance, it is not necessary to do the calculation by hand; this value already appears in the “Overview” tab for each asset.
As you buy the asset at different prices, the average price adjusts to these values, reducing or increasing the final price you paid, and making it easier to decide the best moment to realize profits, buy more, or exit the operation even at a loss. The ideal is that these contributions are always equal to normalize the average prices. If you make, for example, a contribution of US$ 100 in one month, and US$ 300 in another, the calculation will suffer a deviation due to the difference in the contribution.
This strategy is useful for the medium and long term and should only be applied to strong and consolidated assets. It is of no use to keep buying at different values for a cryptocurrency whose value only falls with no prospect of rising again.
