October, which is usually green, ended in red instead — and the numbers are significant.
Facts: Coinpedia (Oct 31) reports that the total crypto market fell from $2.94 trillion on Oct 1 to $2.58 trillion on Oct 31 — about $360 billion lost, or -12.2%. Bitcoin fell from $87,220 to around $77,300 (-11.4%), Ether from $2,773 to $2,171 (-21.7%), Solana from $124 to $92 (-25.8%), and XRP from $1.445 to $1.20 (-17%). Coingape (Oct 31) confirms the same picture: BTC below $78,000, ETH around $2,243, and the market at $2.59 trillion.
My opinion: what stands out most to me in this data isn't BTC's decline, but the fact that everything else fell further. When ETH and SOL drop by twice BTC's percentage, that's a sign the market is fleeing risk, not just undergoing a healthy correction. This is also the second red October in a row, following -3.9% in October 2025 — so the seasonal “Uptober” expectation failed for the second time.
What I'm watching next: the prices I'm tracking tonight — BTC around $77,400, ETH around $2,248, SOL around $95.6 — with $76,300 as key support and $78,000 as BTC's nearest resistance. Whether ETF inflows return in early November will be the first key indicator.
Do you think November will reverse this red October, or will the pressure continue?
