Hong Kong enables 24-hour interbank settlement in tokenized deposit pilot

Two banks participating in EnsembleTX in Hong Kong can now settle a transaction using tokenized deposits even on Sunday night. On November 2, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced that settlement between the pilot's banks is now available 24 hours a day in tokenized central bank money.

🟡 When the pilot began in November 2025, banks used the real-time gross settlement system in Hong Kong dollars.
🟡 The pilot brings together 12 banks and 20 industry partners. Participants have already used tokenized deposits in corporate treasury operations and transactions involving tokenized money market funds.
