Trump has an exit — but the price is high
The escalation was not an accident, it was a miscalculation. Trump and Netanyahu bet that Iran would back down under maximum pressure. It did not back down. On the contrary: it responded at the right time, in the right tone — and now the world is paying the price with oil under threat and markets on alert.
The mistake was underestimating Iranian resilience. The correct move, still possible, is to recognize limits. Without clear lines for Iran's nuclear program, the conflict becomes an endless game of provocations, where each move pushes the price of oil and global tension higher.
Trump has an exit: negotiate firmly, impose verifiable limits, and swap open war for strategic containment. It is not weakness — it is geopolitical intelligence. Continuing to escalate does not prove strength, it only accelerates the collapse of balance.
The market has already understood. Now politics needs to catch up.
