#LedgerConfirmsUnauthorizedHardwareImplantInUserDevice
🚨 Ledger just confirmed it
An unauthorized hardware implant was found in at least one affected device while they’re looking into ~$86M in reported losses.
No sign that Ledger’s own systems or devices sold directly were compromised
CryptoBilis has stopped selling hardware wallets
The implant was allegedly reading whatever showed on the screen (including seed phrases)
Quick advice:
If you got yours from CryptoBilis and haven’t set it up yet — don’t.
Already set it up? Move your funds to a fresh seed on a new device.
This feels like a pure supply-chain problem, not a failure of the hardware itself. Buy straight from Ledger, check the packaging, and skip any third-party resellers you don’t fully trust. Physical security is just as important as the secure element. Self-custody still works — just stay careful.
