Boundless: ZK Universal Protocol Reshapes On-Chain Verification
Boundless is a universal, permissionless zero-knowledge network that brings the power of ZK to all blockchains.
Powered by RISC-V zkVMs and a new cryptographic primitive, patented as Proof of Verifiable Work (PoVW), it incentivizes a decentralized network of ZK miners with Zero Knowledge Coin (ZKC), the native token of the protocol.
The technology of Boundless was developed and launched by RISC Zero, the pioneers behind the first RISC-V zkVM. The platform provides scalable ZK proof capabilities to meet the growing demand of web3 for ZK proofs from L1, L2, bridges, DeFi applications, and more.
The ZKC token, an ERC-20 standard, plays a central role in the Boundless ecosystem, with an initial total supply of 1,000,000,000 ZKC.
The current circulating supply reaches 200,953,107 ZKC (20.1%). Projected inflation is 7% in the first year, gradually decreasing to 3% by the eighth year, supporting a verifiable staking mechanism: provers stake ZKC to mint sZKC, locked to the proof requirement with a slashing penalty if they fail, ensuring high reliability.
PoVW rewards mint ZKC directly through contracts on Ethereum, based on validated work, while ZKC is also used for governance – deciding on deploying verifier contracts on new chains or adding supporting zkVMs.
Compared to other ZK tokens, ZKC stands out for its universality and has allocated 10,000,000 tokens to Binance Launchpool since September 15.
Trading ZKC on Binance recorded impressive trading volume on the first day, reflecting demand from the Kaito launchpad campaign that raised over $71 million in commitments.
