A burner wallet is a separate, temporary wallet holding just enough for one purpose - trying a new app, minting something, claiming from a site you do not know well. If that interaction turns out to be malicious, the damage stops at the burner's small balance.
The logic is simple compartments. Your main wallet, the one with your savings, never connects to anything experimental and never signs approvals it does not need. The burner takes the risk; you move out only what you want to keep. It takes a few minutes to set up and is one of the cheapest habits for protecting serious money.
