Iran's Experts Council has elected a new supreme leader, the decision will be announced later.

This was reported by Ahmad Alamolhoda, a member of the council from Khorasan Razavi province.

"The election took place and the leader was determined," he stated.

He noted that according to the country's constitution, no member of the Experts Council has the right to change their opinion.

According to Alamolhoda, everything now depends on the council's secretary Ayatollah Hoseyni from Bushehr, who must announce the institution's decision to the public.
