A Wake Up Call For Indian P2P Traders...

I thought dealing with crypto outside of exchanges was a safe bet – selling to local friends and trusted connections. But here's what happened recently:

💼 A close friend, who buys a lot of USDT from me, got caught in a P2P scam on August 9. His bank account is now frozen with a lien of ₹2.6 lakhs.

😱 Fast forward to September 6, my bank account also got a hold of ₹50,000 because of my past transactions with him. Even though the last time he bought from me was way back on July 20, police consider him a prime suspect.

📉 Now my account is frozen for KYC and fraud checks, even though I didn’t directly deal with the scam.

🚨 The big question: Does he have to refund the entire ₹2.6 lakhs, even though he only received ₹53K from the victim? And is my account done for?

❗Moral of the story: Even with trusted friends, P2P crypto deals can have serious consequences.

Stay vigilant, keep records, and always think twice before dealing outside exchanges.
