📰 Harmony This time it’s not an upgrade of the mainnet—it’s preparing to shut down the mainnet that has been running for nearly seven years directly, migrating the native token ONE to Ethereum, while pivoting to an AI video “mashup economy.”
To be honest, this decision isn’t sudden. In 2022, the Horizon cross-chain bridge was attacked, with losses of about $100 million; this year in August, the attackers exploited a cross-shard receipt verification vulnerability, using six transactions to forge 3.01 trillion ONE tokens. After the team rolled back two shards, more than 100,000 normal transactions were wiped out as well.
🔥 For Harmony, continuing to maintain an independent chain means the security and operational costs are only getting heavier. After moving to Ethereum, the total supply of ONE and the release schedule will remain unchanged for now. In principle, holders don’t need to proactively claim. However, some multisig treasuries, liquidity pools, and on-chain applications can’t be migrated.
💡 The idea for the new business is: creators upload content, users do secondary creations, then AI Agents extend the content. Operators would be responsible for generating, distributing, and moderating. ONE will take on incentive, staking, and governance functions, and operators will also need to stake ONE to obtain GPU subsidies and service reward incentives.

But the question is very direct: why would users necessarily use ONE? Subscriptions, ads, and GPU services can all be paid for in fiat or stablecoins. If ONE is simply a rewards tool wrapped around an AI product, business growth doesn’t necessarily translate into token demand.
