SONM is a decentralized fog computing platform that provides cloud services based on distributed customer level hardware including PCs, mining equipment, and servers. A user can either rent out his hardware or use someone’s computing power for his needs.
Every user has a rating based on the history and results of deals they have made to sell or purchase computing power on the SONM marketplace. Anybody who uses the SONM platform should be able to avoid untrustworthy people.
The implementation of AI in SONM platform focuses on solving three main tasks: solving trust problems, the Knapsack problem, and the Traveling Salesman problem. While the trust problem in context of trust issues between hubs, is solved by analyzing their rating systems, the Knapsack problem and the Traveling Salesman problem are solved by dividing resources between different projects/hubs, and by resource distribution and backs to GRID-network standards.
The SMN token is used within the SONM ecosystem for paying computation services.
