BTC Surpasses Tesla to Become 9th Biggest Global Asset
One day after Tesla declared $1.5 billion of holdings in Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency surpassed the world's most valuable automotive company to become the ninth-biggest global asset by market cap.
As of 2:00 PM UTC, Bitcoin's market cap is at $853.4 billion, while Tesla is valued at $818.4 billion. Crypto information site Bloqport first reported on this trend. At No. 8 in the global asset rankings is Tencent, with a market cap of $903.3 billion
Interestingly, it was Tesla's disclosure of its Bitcoin holdings yesterday that mainly drove the cryptocurrency's market cap up by more than $125 billion, from around $725 billion before the announcement.
