Ethereum Merge is only 13 days away, and activity on the network is reaching new highs with 204,571,827 unique addresses on the network now.
This represents a growth of over two million unique addresses in the last 30 days -a daily average of 70,000 addresses based on Etherscan data.
While new addresses don’t always mean increased network activity as individual investors may have multiple addresses. However, it could be a sign of increased interest in the blockchain network.
The number of staked ETH on Ethereum 2.0 has been growing consistently over the past few months and stands at 13,509.375 ETH as of August 31. That represents an addition of over 300k ETH to the network within a month.

ETH Merge and Price

Several analysts are predicting that the merge would lead to the ETH rallying, investors might currently be looking to cop the asset in anticipation of the run.
After the merge– PoS advocates will pump ETH to show success– ETH-PoW advocates will pump ETHW to make it thrive– BTC-advocates will pump BTC to avoid flippening– L2 advocates will pump their token as an alternativeOnly problem: We are in a bear.

According to crypto analyst firm Santiment, traders are shorting ETH at a record rate, which could signify a future rally.
The #Ethereum disbelief is strong from traders during a particularly volatile week of trading. The crowd has #shorted, across exchanges, at the largest ratio since June of 2021. Historically, price rises are more prevalent in these conditions.

Meanwhile, it should be added that ETH’s recent price performance has been poor after its brief rally upon news of the merge.
However, not everyone is optimistic about the price of ETH post-merge.
According to CNBC contributor Brian Kelly, Ethereum merge presents some risks to traders than it is highlighted.
Kelly said:
There’s probably a higher potential for a sell-the-news event going into the merge. You could also have a technical glitch. Not only [that], but there are a lot of questions about what the apps are going to do if Ethereum splits again. You could have a chain fork and now not one, but two or three different Ethereums. Then what does your DApp (decentralized application) go on and play on? I think that there’s more risk to the Ethereum merge than people are giving credit for.”
Ethereum Foundation, however, has said it expects the transition to go on smoothly without any issues or glitches.
Also, several stablecoin issuers and Dapps have expressed support for the merge.
