Citi’s co-head of digital assets Alex Kriete leaves to launch a crypto startup

Alex Kriete, co-head of digital assets at the American investment bank, Citi, announced on Thursday through a LinkedIn post that he is leaving the bank after working there for the last 11 years and overseeing its newly formed crypto division since June last year.

Alex Kriete intends to create his own company in the crypto sector.

He said he believes that digital assets will continue to grow in importance to global capital markets and the formation of new business models.
