Brazilian generative crypto-artist, Fernando Magalhães, better known to the Web3 world as MGXS, is lending his support to Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF) during the NFT Paris on February 24 and 25.

BSF, known as Libraries Without Borders in English, is an international nonprofit organization that empowers disconnected communities and people in crisis by facilitating access to reliable information, learning opportunities, and cultural resources.

The organization operates in more than 30 countries, deploying innovative learning spaces and tools with an aim to enable "vulnerable people" to learn, play, build communities, and construct their futures.

As an advocate for the marginalized, MGXS has organized an auction at NFT Paris and plans to donate 50% of the proceeds from one of his animated works that are part of his broader series "Assemble Us." Interested parties both at the event and online will be able to bid on the work today at 3:00 pm CET via the artist's partner marketplace Exa.

MGXS shared that "Assemble Us is like a mirror - reflecting part humans, part machines, designed and assembled to fit perfectly. This perfection though, is elusive, as these two forces try to interact and assimilate with each other."

The series also includes 48 static works, which will be released over a series of eight days and can be collected as separate works or assembled into sets. Exa notes that "art is the utility" and that there is no roadmap or burns planned for the works.

As for the decision to donate to BSF, it came as second nature to the artist whose own personal story closely aligns with the nonprofit. Having grown up in a poor neighborhood in São Paulo, MGXS understands the transformative power of art, which he discovered at an early age.

The artist shared that BSF connects with him because they provide the same spark for art he felt at a young age, adding that "these opportunities are super powerful. It’s giving people a golden gem called creativity, so they can hold it and pursue whatever their imagination can create."

Through its innovative and portable educational and cultural spaces called "Ideas Box," BSF helps people affected by crises and precariousness to learn, express themselves through art, and create social links.

The NGO currently runs several programs in Ukraine and neighboring countries to support refugee and displaced populations. Powering its bigger mission is its belief that access to culture and creativity is essential for personal and professional development that can change one's destiny.

The partnership between MGXS and BSF marks the beginning of a larger program that aims to allow the most precarious young people in over 30 countries to experiment with digital arts using BSF's Ideas Box.

In other news, MakersPlace continues push for physical and digital art creation.
