Crypto Against COVID Donates 27,000 KN95 Masks to UK’s National Health Service

Binance Charity supports the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and its King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust to aid the fight against COVID-19.

Binance Charity the non-profit arm of Binance, the global blockchain company behind the world’s largest digital asset exchange by trading volume and users, today donated 27,000 KN95 masks worth over £50,000 to the NHS’ Pru Trust to aid the fight against COVID-19 in the U.K. 

The Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) is one of London’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals and is part of the King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust employs more than 11,000 healthcare workers and delivers services to more than 326,000 people across the London boroughs of Bromley and Bexley in addition to Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham. The Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust also provide services at the PRUH.

The COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact on the NHS and its healthcare workers. The amount of personal protection equipment (PPE) needed by the healthcare system to maintain the wellbeing of the U.K.’s healthcare workers is unprecedented.

Private and public donations have enabled lifesaving medical supplies, such as PPE, to supplement shortages experienced by hospitals and frontline healthcare workers within communities in need. Since the launch of Binance Charity’s Crypto Against COVID campaign in March 2020, the organization has delivered 1 million PPE to countries around the world with more supplies en route in different areas.
