Binance Exchange Updates

Listing Updates

  • We have renamed the ETH Trading Market to ALTS Trading Market, to support more trading pairs with different quote currencies. In relation to the change, we added TRX/XRP and XZC/XRP trading pairs with XRP as the quote asset.

  • In addition, we have added six new trading pairs on the Stablecoin (USDⓈ) Market: PAX/TUSD, USDC/TUSD, USDC/PAX, ADA/TUSD, TRX/TUSD, and NEO/TUSD.

  • As of today, we have 151 cryptocurrencies available for trading on Binance, with 406 total trading pairs, reflecting the new trading pairs in the ALTS and USDⓈ Markets.

New Features

  • Binance's PC app added a new price alert function, through which you can set your Binance app to give notifications when a crypto hits a certain price on a specific trading pair.

  • We also announced new updates to our Sub-Account feature. Sub-Account eligibility is being updated to include all corporate users and individuals accounts with VIP 1 tier or higher. The list of eligible accounts will automatically update at 1:00 AM UTC each day, at which point the sub-account function will be permanent. Also, transfers between Master and Sub-Accounts can be completed via API, with zero fees.


Binance Ecosystem Updates

Binance Launchpad, the exclusive token launch platform of Binance, is featuring new blockchain projects this year, starting with BitTorrent and Fetch.AI. Read more about Launchpad and how to participate in the upcoming token launches.

In preparation of Season 2 of the Binance Labs Incubation Program, Binance Labs held meetups in Shenzhen and Hong Kong for startups who are interested in the future programs of Binance’s investment arm. During the meetups, Binance Labs also discussed detail of the upcoming Binance Fellowship Program - we will share more details on this soon.

The second season of the Binance Labs Incubation Program begins in March 2019, with chapters located in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Lagos, San Francisco, and Singapore. Apply now! Learn more about the incubation program in this video.

Trust Wallet, the official crypto wallet app of Binance, is releasing new features over the next few weeks, starting with support on both iOS and Android for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin. Visit the Trust Wallet site for more info and join their Telegram group.

Binance Charity has recently opened two fundraising channels. The L-Istrina Campaign, which supports terminally ill patients and disadvantaged children in Malta, has already secured commitments from Binance and Tron to donate $100,000 to The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. Binance Charity has also launched the Restore Bududa Program, a channel created to aid disaster victims of the Bukalasi Sub-county Landslide Disaster in Uganda.

Preparations for Binance Blockchain Week in Singapore are in full swing. We recently hosted three pre-Hackathons in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Seoul, and the winners for each event are moving on to participate in the Binance SAFU Hackathon. Since its recent launch in 15 languages, Binance Academy has released several new lessons in blockchain, cryptocurrency, security, and more. New topics on the educational platform include Ethereum Plasma, Multisig Wallet, Bitcoin video explainer, Fiat Currency, The 2008 Financial Crisis, Tulip Mania, Ripple, DoS Attack, and Game Theory.

Binance Info has launched two rounds of its Bounty Program for updated information on the platform. The platform added 123 new third-party rating report over the past month, bringing the total number of reports to 1,687. Meanwhile, 56 projects on Info have been verified with a V Label to date


Binance Online Activities

We recently concluded our Wish to Binance campaign, where participants let us know their wish that’s worth up to $10,000. More than 40,000 showed interest in the campaign, while 4,463 made their wishes to Binance. The lucky winner is FarahaAhmed1, who will fulfill her wish of going on a skydiving adventure in a suit with the names of the top 100 cryptocurrencies on it. That sounds fun!

Meanwhile, on the exchange, we ran a trading competition for BNB. A total of 33,000 BNB and 10 iPhone XS Max (256GB) units are offered as prizes to our users worldwide. Top traders will split the 33,000 BNB prize pool, while 10 lucky participants will get iPhones. Here are further details. We also offered a zero maker fee promotion that applies to all Paxos trading pairs for a one-month period that started December 20, 2018, and will end January 21, 2019. In addition, completed the distribution of certain tokens for December. This includes NeoGas for NEO holders, Ontology Gas for Ontology holders, VTHO for VeChain holders, and Pundi X tokens.

Binance in the News

Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao was named CoinDesk’s Most Influential in Blockchain in 2018. The feature story on CZ — where he is called “Crypto’s King Midas”— can be read here.

Binance’s Twitter page grew the most among cryptocurrency accounts in 2018, with more than 682,000 new followers added over the year, according to CoinMarketSocial. As a result, the number of followers on our Twitter account increased from 216,000 to 899,000 in just 12 months! Read more about it here.
