Conclusion upfront: TradFi (stocks + commodities + FX) saw a total of $34.41 million liquidated in a day, with stock and commodity directions completely going opposite ways.
For stocks, in the past 24 hours, $25.07 million was cleared—73% of the total. Of that, 74% were short positions; the ones chasing the sell-off couldn’t hold up through the rebound.
The commodity market here has the trend flipped: the largest crude oil position—an $798,000 long was closed at $88.72. In commodities over the past 24 hours totaling $794 million, 61% is still long positions, and oil prices these days have been plenty of turmoil for longs.
In FX and indices, the volumes are small—together only $510,000, accounting for less than 2%, so it can basically be ignored.
