From 50,000 in debt to earning 1 million? That TRB crash finally taught me how trading works!
Around New Yearโs Day 2024, TRB saw a dramatic price swing, falling from around $593 to around $209.
$DOOD Some people bought in at the peak and got trapped, some held on until they were liquidated, and others seized the opportunity.
That move taught me that the crazier the market gets, the more you need to focus on capital flows, sentiment, and riskโnot just price.
Looking back on that market move, Iโve summed up three takeaways.
First, watch out for unusual capital flows.
At the time, I was paying close attention to large TRB transactions, futures funding rates, and market sentiment.
The higher the price climbs and the more crowded bullish sentiment becomes, the more alert you should be to risk. But unusual capital flows donโt necessarily mean a price drop is coming. Indicators can only help inform your judgment; they canโt guarantee accurate predictions.
$AGT Second, plan your exit before you enter.
In an overheated market, I first assess short-selling opportunities and plan my entry, stop-loss, and staggered profit-taking levels.
Donโt always aim to sell at the very top. What matters is exiting promptly when youโre wrong and locking in profits according to plan when youโre right.
Without a stop-loss plan, even the best call can turn into a gamble.
Third, donโt rush to buy the dip after a crash.
A big drop doesnโt mean the bottom is in.
Watch to see whether the price stabilizes, how trading volume changes, and whether key levels hold. If thereโs no signal that fits your plan, wait patiently. $PTB
This market move taught me one thing:
Getting the direction right is only the beginning. Managing risk and protecting profitsโthatโs what real trading skill is about.
If you donโt understand the market, wait. If your judgment is wrong, cut your losses. When an opportunity appears, follow your plan.
Whatโs the most unforgettable rally or crash youโve experienced in crypto?
