When looking for 100x gains in crypto, a lot of people may be getting it backwards from the very first step.
Most people keep their eyes glued to new token pools every day, rushing in whenever they see a coin pumping. In the end, they either get left holding the bag or get beaten to it by bots.
But recently, I came across an interesting approach: instead of looking for hundreds of new tokens every day, why not study what the people who bought 100x coins early are buying now?
The method isn’t complicated. These 7 steps can help you identify a batch of wallets worth watching.
Step 1: Find the super Memes of the past.
For example, coins that went up hundreds or even thousands of times in the last cycle. It doesn’t matter if they’ve fallen so far that nobody recognizes them now.
We’re not looking to buy the dip on old coins. We want to find the people who got in earliest back then.
Step 2: Dig up the 20 earliest buyers’ wallets.
Just open GMGN and find the earliest buyers of the coin. If it’s on another chain, you can also use a block explorer to trace early transactions.

Step 3: Filter for wallets that have still been trading in the past 30 days.
Many early wallets may no longer be in use, so focus on addresses that are still active.
Step 4: Exclude high-frequency bots.
There’s no point wasting time on addresses that complete a buy-and-sell cycle in just a few seconds. Ordinary people can barely keep up with them.
Step 5: Research what these wallets have bought recently.
This is the most important step.
Look at which Memes they’ve bought in the past 30 days, when they entered, how much they bought, and how much they still hold.
Step 6: Look for coins bought by multiple wallets.
A single smart-money wallet buying in may just be testing the waters.
But if several wallets that have previously caught major moves buy the same new coin around the same time, it’s worth investigating further.
However, make sure to rule out linked wallets. Don’t mistake multiple addresses belonging to one person for consensus among different investors.
Step 7: Reassess using your own criteria.
Take another look at the narrative, token distribution, liquidity, community buzz, and holder structure.
