Ripple CEO re‑affirms XRP as the company’s “North Star” amid RLUSD buzz

​- At the Ripple Swell event in New York, Brad Garlinghouse told CoinDesk that “we only want to do things that are good for XRP” and will not pursue activities that work against the token’s interests.

​- He explained that Ripple may use fiat or its RLUSD stablecoin for certain transactions, saying “I’d rather see XRP do a small percentage of a customer’s transaction than zero percent.”

​- Ripple announced a strategic partnership with Robinhood covering stablecoins, treasury operations, institutional settlement and financing, an expanded relationship with BNY Mellon supporting XRP and RLUSD on its custody platform, and final OCC approval for its National Trust Bank (conditional approval began in 2025).

​- XRP is trading near $1.30 on CoinGecko, down 2% in 24 hours, nearly 4% in seven days, almost 13% in the last month, and a 50% plunge from the same time last year.
