BTC Node Network Reachability May Be Improved|Draft Not Yet Live|Pay Attention to Funding Risks Near $75,500 My stance is to keep waiting for confirmation and not dress up a node draft as bullish news for BTC. On November 5, PR #36784 appeared in the Bitcoin Core repository, proposing that nodes automatically determine whether their local IPv4 and IPv6 connections have usable external routes. The author explained that IPv6 is actually unreachable in some environments, yet nodes still retain the associated addresses and repeatedly try to connect, wasting peer connection resources. The proposal would use local UDP route queries to make this determination, without sending probe packets. The first check would take place one minute after startup, followed by checks every ten minutes, and the corresponding network would be re-enabled once routing is restored. It is still marked Draft, and the author explicitly wants to test it on more systems and unusual networks. At this stage, it has neither been merged nor become a mainnet consensus change. I’m watching this work because nodes’ ability to connect effectively with peers affects the stability of block and transaction propagation. Reducing futile connection attempts could theoretically help reserve resources for reachable peers. But route detection could also produce false positives in environments such as VPNs, containers, or IPv6-only networks, so the author is taking a conservative approach—“if the evidence is uncertain, treat it as reachable”—and waiting for test reports. This is an operational robustness issue, not an immediate change to Bitcoin’s issuance rules, fee rules, or on-chain throughput. The chain of reasoning required to treat it as a signal to buy BTC today is too long. Risk appetite and capital flows remain the real pressures on short-term prices. Binance Square’s “US stocks weaken, crypto market broadly under pressure” is still trending. Farside’s complete figures for November 5 show net outflows of about $430.2 million from US spot BTC funds in total. BTC/USD recently traded at around $75,553 on Kraken, with an opening price of about $75,980, an intraday low of about $75,200, and an intraday high of about $76,301. BTC is hovering near its lows after institutional fund outflows the previous day; that does not prove the node PR pushed the price up or down. The employment report scheduled by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has not yet been released, so volatility should be accounted for in advance. I’m treating $76,301 as the short-term recovery level and $75,100, the low of the past 24 hours, as the risk level. Only if fund outflows ease and BTC’s hourly chart moves above $76,301 and holds on a retest would there be reason to assess a rebound. If it breaks below $75,100 and fails to recover, the short-term stabilization thesis is invalidated. If the draft is ultimately withdrawn or shelved for a long time because of false-positive issues, I’ll also withdraw my expectations for its benefits to nodes. Progress in on-chain software and confirmation in the secondary market need to be verified separately. If I were trading with my own money, I wouldn’t participate now. My only directional idea would be a conditional, unleveraged spot long, with my current position at 0% of total capital. The trigger would be an hourly close above $76,301, followed by a retest that holds within the $76,000–$76,300 range, with no renewed significant deterioration in fund data. Only then would I place a trial trade using at most 1% of total capital. I’d take half off at the first target of $77,200 and close the remainder at the second target of $78,000. After entry, if the hourly price falls back below $76,000, I’d reduce the position by half; at $75,100, I’d close everything at a stop-loss. If $75,100 breaks before the trigger occurs, I’d cancel the trade plan rather than describe a conditional plan whose conditions were never verified as an executed trade. #US stocks weaken, crypto market broadly under pressure #BTC The above is solely my personal market observation and does not constitute investment advice.
