🚀 Bankrupt crypto exchange FTX has not only recovered from its downfall but is now able to pay back its customers $1.18 for every dollar's worth of crypto assets they held during the collapse! 💰 This unexpected turn of events has sparked a debate: Was Sam Bankman-Fried, the man behind the largest financial heist ever, right all along? 🤔 He insisted that FTX was solvent, just illiquid. The current FTX CEO, John J. Ray III, has managed to recover between $14.5 billion and $16.3 billion in assets. This recovery is likely due to the rising price of crypto assets. FTX also made significant gains by selling off properties and equity investments. However, SBF's argument that FTX only had an illiquidity problem seems absurd. FTX was not solvent at the time of its collapse. It's only due to the subsequent bull run that FTX became solvent. Customers are being compensated in the dollar value of their accounts at November 2022 prices, not in crypto assets. 🔍 London-based Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA) has been selected as the independent compliance monitor for Binance, as part of the crypto exchange's plea deal with the DOJ. Binance had agreed to pay $4.3 billion in fines, and CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao stepped down and was sentenced to four months in prison. 🏛️ FRA was chosen over Sullivan & Cromwell due to the latter's controversial handling of the FTX bankruptcy.
