Yesterday’s Review | In a bearish trend, rebounds are opportunities
Short positions at 4130/4138 both hit their targets, capturing a total of 40 points across two moves.
In the end, trading isn’t about predicting the market—it’s about risk management, position sizing, and execution. Stick to the rules and build steadily.
Since last night, we’ve been signaling a short around 4138. The price has since fallen to 4048, covering nearly 100 points. The signal’s value is still increasing; continue looking lower, toward around 4000.
Gold surged higher early Thursday, with prices holding above the 5- and 10-day moving averages. This rebound is driven in part by safe-haven buying ahead of the midterm elections, and in part by a bottoming-out and recovery after a prolonged decline. After two months of sustained choppy trading to the downside, prices broke below the July low, fully shaking out bullish sentiment before a long bullish candle quickly drove prices higher. The pullback in crude oil from elevated levels, combined with markets scaling back expectations for a December rate hike, also helped fuel the gold rebound.
However, the closely watched nonfarm payrolls report is due today, and market trading is cautious. The Fed's monetary policy has not shifted toward easing. For bulls to sustain this move, they will need repeated confirmation from the data and must wait for the July low to be confirmed as a bottom, forming a head-and-shoulders bottom pattern.
Overnight trading has already shown signs of weakness, so the short-term bias in the early session is to look for a pullback. Trading suggestion: Sell around 4100–4120 on a rebound, targeting 4080$AAPLB $NVDAB #币安将恢复更多资产提现 #币安安全事件恢复进展:98%被盗资产已回填
Short at 4040 with the trend and capture a 120-point swing; Two opportunities to short at 3915, gaining 40 points; Set up a short-term long at 3895 and take 25 points.
The major downtrend remains unchanged, with profits from short-term rebounds in between—profiting on both the long and short sides. Trade with the market’s rhythm and put risk management first. We’ll do it again tomorrow.

Gold’s daily chart has printed a strong bullish candle, decisively breaking above all short-term moving averages and completely reversing the trend. The previous period of choppy weakness is over, short-term moving averages have turned upward, and bullish momentum is strong. The 4-hour chart has broken through key resistance levels from the previous period in succession, with short-term moving averages continuing to rise and price forming a strong upward structure. The Bollinger Bands are opening upward in tandem, while gold is consolidating and moving higher close to the upper band. The bullish trend remains intact.
Intraday trading is expected to remain firm and choppy. However, after the consecutive rally and with the Nonfarm Payrolls report approaching, uncertainty is increasing, so trade with caution. Key support is around 4100. The preferred strategy is to buy on a pullback.
Trading recommendation: Go long on a pullback into the 4100–4110 range, with a stop-loss at 4090 and targets at 4140–4160.
Newcomers know this well: in trading, execution and risk management are far more important than predicting market movements.
For every trade going forward, entry points, take-profit levels, and stop-loss levels will all be clearly shared. Markets change; stick to the rules and build steadily over time.
Last month, all our gold swing short positions hit their targets. We entered in batches, and once they were all aligned with our target level, the market fell another 500 points.
The overall trend is down, and every rebound is an opportunity. You have to hold your positions to catch the big moves.
Intraday gold prices surged strongly, driven by the dual catalysts of easing US-Iran tensions and shifting expectations around the election. On the 4-hour chart, prices moved above the middle Bollinger Band, and the lower-level bearish nine-count completed, prompting a corrective rebound.
After buyers concentrated their efforts, prices are now consolidating at elevated levels to digest the gains. Following the sharp rally, the market has entered overbought territory, volatility has increased, and there is a risk of a rapid pullback at any time. Aggressively chasing long positions is not recommended.
This rally is a news- and sentiment-driven surge, not a complete trend reversal; the broader bearish structure remains intact. Prices are gradually approaching resistance near the upper Bollinger Band. Tonight, pay close attention to the risk of prices retreating after hitting resistance and as positive news is priced in.
Trading strategy: Sell on a rebound into the 4090–4110 range, with initial targets at 4060–4020.

Trading doesn’t always go smoothly. There are profits, but also drawdowns. What matters is sticking to your rules and making the right trade-offs.
In these recent rounds of back-and-forth trading in gold, I captured profits from swings in the market, but also took losses when my entries got stopped out.
The market is a game of probabilities. Don’t expect to win every trade. Use strict stop-losses and manage your position size. Make more on your winners than you lose on your losers, and you’ll be on a steadier path over the long term.
Follow the rhythm steadily and patiently wait for the opportunities that are yours.
Yesterday, gold rebounded after being oversold, then weakened under pressure at the middle Bollinger Band. The rebound was not a reversal, and the strategy of selling rallies paid off. Short positions at 3965 and 3930 each took profit. Trading is about risk management and execution—building steadily and living up to your trust.
