After submitting the Bitcoin spot ETF application to the SEC on the 15th of last month, a wave of Bitcoin spot ETF applications was set off. Although the SEC subsequently rejected the relevant application, BlackRock and other institutions later resubmitted revised applications, designating Coinbase as a partner of the Spot BTC Supervision Sharing Agreement (SSA), seeking to resolve the SEC's concerns.

Now, there is new progress in the relevant applications. The BitcoinETPTrust application submitted by cryptocurrency asset management company Bitwise was published in the Federal Register on Tuesday. At the same time, the applications for the remaining five Bitcoin spot ETFs will be published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, including:

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust

Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust

WisdomTree Bitcoin Trust

VanEck Bitcoin Strategy ETF

Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF

Coindesk reported that although the SEC released a document seeking public consultation on the Bitcoin ETF last week, the review will not be officially initiated until the relevant ETF application is published in the Federal Register. Initially, the review period is 45 days, but it can be extended to 240 days.

It is understood that the Federal Register is the official gazette of the U.S. federal government, and its content covers executive orders, federal agency regulations, proposed agency rules, and other documents that must be published under legal regulations.

While there is no guarantee that the SEC will approve any application, BlackRock's application is seen as more likely to be approved.

Other Spot ETF Progress

Another Bitcoin spot ETF application, "ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF", jointly developed by ARK Investment, an investment management company owned by female stock god Cathie Wood, and issuer 21Shares, was published in the Federal Register on May 15. The SEC extended the approval period for this application in June.

As for Valkyrie's Bitcoin Strategy ETF application, a Valkyrie spokesperson said that this Bitcoin spot ETF application has not yet been published in the Federal Register, but the SEC has accepted the application on Monday; Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas also confirmed the news. Valkyrie became the last confirmed application in this batch of spot Bitcoin ETF applications by the SEC, and the Nasdaq trading code is BRRR.
