Late on the weekend, I came across Solana’s official weekly roundup. There was a lot to take in, so here are a few of the key points.

Traditional finance is really lining up to get in this week: Samsung Wallet has opened USDC accounts running on Solana directly to Galaxy users in the US; Schroders has brought its emerging-market bond fund on-chain; a JPMorgan fund has arrived too; and Securitize added 13 US stocks at once, bringing the total to 25. The total value of RWAs has topped $5 billion, up 18% in a month, while stablecoin card spending hit a record $141 million in October.

The on-chain ecosystem has been busy too: the Alpenglow upgrade officially went live, and Akash moved its entire network over to build decentralized AI computing power.

The surreal part is happening on the other side: China’s central bank has determined that a Solana promotional event in Shanghai violated the crypto ban and is investigating the organizers. Asset-management giants are lining up to get in, while others are being kept out. The same token, treated two different ways. Getting past barriers to market access is a much harder climb than a tech upgrade.

$BTC is still languishing below $80,000, and another oil tanker caught fire after hitting a mine in the Strait of Hormuz last night. There have already been seven attacks in November. In this environment, the $SOL ecosystem is still quietly building. It brings to mind the saying: narratives may waver, but infrastructure keeps moving.
