📊 In the morning, the decision gave no direction; by afternoon, the market had cast its own vote: for “contraction.”

In the snapshot, $BTC was back at 79,861 (-1.5%), $ETH 2,311 (-2.2%), and only 8 of the 68 major pairs were in the green.

But this time, the driver wasn’t the Fed: in the hour after Seoul opened, BTC fell more than $1,100 in an hour (CoinDesk)—Samsung’s earnings missed expectations (-5%), the Kospi fell more than 2%, and Alphabet briefly dropped 10% after hours following its earnings report. The decision didn’t trigger the sell-off; the Asian morning afterward did.

Liquidations over 24 hours totaled $356 million, including $205 million in long positions. The overnight low was near 79,614, with a dense long-liquidation zone just below (Bitget UEX data this morning: 79,700–80,500; the current price has already entered the near edge). A breakdown could trigger cascading forced liquidations of leveraged positions.

What to watch: holding 79,614 would point to a recovery; reclaiming 80,281 (Wednesday’s low) would be the first sign of stabilization; the rebound narrative only restarts above 81,709. U.S. GDP and core PCE are due at 20:30 tonight, followed by the ECB decision at 21:15—both are high-impact events, so don’t bet everything on one direction.

Are you watching 79,614? If it gives way, do you go straight to 79,120, or wait to see if 80,281 is reclaimed?
