Aerodrome and Velodrome announce Aero merger and token migration
An October 22 report says Aerodrome and Velodrome have announced a merger into the on-chain spot exchange Aero, launching across Ethereum mainnet, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP Mainnet, Arc and Arbitrum. The report puts combined monthly DEX volume across those seven networks at approximately $120 billion; this is a network-wide figure, not Aero's own trading volume.
Under the announced migration, AERO and VELO would move to a new AERO token, while veAERO and veVELO would convert to sAERO. Developer Dromos Labs' founder and CEO Alex Cutler said 100% of platform revenue would be distributed to AERO stakers. Announced features include Predictive Allocation, cross-network Metaswaps and Slipstream V3 with dynamic fees and MEV capture. The supplied report does not specify migration ratios or deadlines, so those terms remain to be checked against official migration instructions.
