It’s been a whole day. It can’t go up, but it just won’t drop either—just grinding away here. Who’s it grinding down? People like me who are holding positions, until we finally can’t resist making a move.
I know this damn market-maker’s tricks all too well: first they make you think things are stable, then they stick in a needle to shake you out. Once you’ve sold, they pump it back up. They did this to me last month, and I still get mad thinking about it.
Basically, at this level nobody’s willing to put money in first. The bulls are afraid of catching a falling knife, and the bears are afraid of getting liquidated. Trading volume is practically starving—nobody’s making a move. At this point, it’s not about who has the better read; it’s about who can sit tight.
