People keep asking if AI stocks still have room to run. This week might be the clearest answer yet.
Meta just launched Muse, an AI agent across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — and in less than two weeks it became the #1 free app on the U.S. App Store, passing ChatGPT. Almost 3 million installs globally, and it out-downloaded ChatGPT's own launch pace in the U.S. and Canada by nearly 40%.
Why does an app matter for stocks? Because every AI query needs a server to run it. Real usage at that scale means real, ongoing chip demand — not just a story about future potential.
The market reacted fast: AMD briefly crossed $1 trillion in market cap, Intel jumped 12%, Arm spiked 14%. Asian markets followed the same script — Korea's Kospi up 2%, Taiwan hitting record highs, and Alibaba unveiling its own AI chip to rival Nvidia.
So back to the original question — where else does money go while AI stocks climb? Maybe the better question is: which part of the AI stack still has room, chips, agents, infrastructure, or something else entirely?
I'm watching the semiconductor names closely right now.
