This time, I truly missed out on BTC.
With BTC breaking above 87,000 yesterday, 58,000 should be the bottom of this cycle.
If there isn’t a “black swan” type of extreme situation later, then the bull market has already started.
And my spot holdings are only 20% allocated; most of it is in BTC and ETH.
Part of it is invested via DCA into QQQ, and most of the funds were converted to USD1, earning roughly 8% annualized.
Sometimes I really envy the newcomers in the community—they open a position and just do it, with zero hesitation.
On August 19th, he went ALL IN with all his funds and bought about 0.5 BTC.
At today’s price, his unrealized profit should be close to $10,000.
I asked him why he dared to go all-in at that point; he said it was only because he agreed with this line: “One long bullish candle, and armies of thousands come to meet.” He didn’t think much—he just bought.
Meanwhile, me—the old bull (weed) that’s been in crypto for nearly 10 years—I no longer have the drive and courage of that “newborn calf not afraid of tigers.” What’s left is only watching, hesitating, and freezing before making trades.
After seeing too much data and historical patterns, you’re actually more likely to misjudge the market.
Now that I look back, the reason I missed this time is honestly a bit tragic.
It’s not that I don’t have money, and it’s not that I don’t understand—it’s that those old “bull market weeds” mindsets are still at work. I overthink, can’t decide, and in the end I end up dying on the shore.
